The weather will soon begin to cool as the days continue to grow shorter. Our gardens are beginning to be overrun with fruits and yummy veggies ripe for the picking. This is the perfect out door weather.

- Seed Sort: Collect seeds from your harvested fruits and veggies or use left over seeds. Have your child sort the seeds by kind, color, size, texture, etc.
- Garden Map: Have your child draw a pictures of your garden. Label each fruit or veggie.
- Read books about planting and harvest. Some good choices might include: Picking Apples and Pumpkins by Amy Hutchings, Strega Nona's Harvest by Tomie dePaolo, Harvest Time by Mercer Mayer, Christopher's Harvest Time by Elsa Beskow, Harvest Year by Cris Peterson, Harvest by Kris Waldherr.
