Spooky, Kooky, or True?

I know I just posted several spells and here I am asking this absurd question.  But really...

Is spell casting spooky, kooky or does it really work?

I have never truly formed an opinion on this.  I see spells and chants and the such as a visualization of wants and wishes... much like praying to a higher power for guidance.

Does anyone have any personal experience with casting spells?  I would love to hear what others have to say.

Money Magik

In this dire economy, who doesn't need more deniro?  I found a couple spells that I hope will me in the right direction financially.

Get some change. It doesn't have to be a lot, fifty cents' worth of different coins will work just fine. Scatter the coins on the floor of your house or place in an open container on a counter/ dresser.  Either way the coins need to be out in the open.

As you scatter the coins, say out loud,

"Money on the floor brings money in the door."

Repeat this over and over until the coins are where you want them.  Then, repeat two or three more times just to be sure.

Done During the Full Moon...

Fill your cauldron half full of water and drop a silver coin into it. Position the cauldron so that the light from the moon shines into the water. Gently sweep your hands just above the surface, symbolically gathering the Moon's silver.

While doing this say...

"Lovely Lady of the Moon,
bring to me your wealth right soon.
Fill my hands with silver and gold.
All you give, my purse can hold."

Repeat this three times. When finished, pour the water upon the earth.

Lucky Magik

Lately, I have been in need of good fortune.  I went in search of some luck spells.  I didn't search long, but found two pretty simple ones I thought I might try.

Close your eyes and focus.

Push all worries from your mind.

After you have reached a meditative state, simply chant the following:

''Spirit, Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
Come to me and give me what I desire.
Waves of luck fall down on me
and complete my wishes effortlessly.
May this spell take toll for one whole day
and after midnight strikes, may it go away.
As I will, so mote it be.''

at midnight on the night of a new moon repeat the incantation below three times while seeing yourself bathed in an orange light.

'brimstone, moon and witch's fire,
good luck i shall now acquire,
midnight twelve, the witching hour,
by wax and wick now work thy power,
harming none, this spell is done,
my luck to change by moon and sun,
by law of three, so mote it be'

Cleansing Crystals

After you purchase a stone or crystal, it is very important to cleanse the stone of any influences it may already contain.  After much research, I have found that their are several different ways to do this.

1.  Place your stones or crystals under the open sky.  24 hours of exposure to the sun and moon should do the trick.
2.  Place your stones within the earth.  If you are going to cover the stones in cloth before laying them to rest in the soil for 24 hours, use a a cloth of natural fiber.
3. Run water free from chemicals over your stones for at least 2 hours.  Be careful though.  Some stones dissolve in water.

If you have another preferred method for cleansing stones and crystals, please feel free to share in the comments.

Selecting Stones and Crystals

I found a quaint, little treasure hidden in the depths of our urban city: CRYSTAL WORKS.  When you enter this amazing establishment, the senses are easily entertained.

I was on edge the entire time because both of my boys where on overload.  Not an item in the store was over looked by them.  Hands siphoned through bowls of crystals and tumbled stones like a sugar addict in a candy store.  Wind chimes were plucked and incense were deeply inhaled.  They were in paradise.

That is until I gave them their mission: Find 1 stone of your choosing and 1 worry stone as well.  Then, I even gave them... dum-dum-dummmmmm... a price limit.  The youngest was fine... perfectly content.  The oldest, however, was in a tizzy.  He wanted some sort of magnetic hematite sticks.  Basically, because they were magnets.  When asked what he would be doing with them, he replied checking for magnet stuff (of course).

He finally decided that getting a stone was better than paying for the magnetic hematite.  With a scowl, he chose his fare.

With that out of the way, I left them sitting near the bowls of stones to examine and explore their treasures.  I went in search of help.  I needed a stone to assist T Man with calming, controlling anger, staying focused, etc.  The young man in the store quickly selected a bowl of... HEMATITE.  I should of known there was a reason T was so fascinated with the larger variety.

I selected several stones and had T touch them and hold them for awhile, so that I could continue gathering a few other stone... just for fun.  By the time I was finished, T had selected the perfect hematite stone for school.  He loved the way it felt smooth and cold in his hands.  He was very pleased.

As for the other stones I purchased, it was a modge pod of sorts.  Below I will list each stone and why I bought it.  Some were purely the joy of looking at it.

black banded agate: calming and soothing to the emotions, grounding
amethyst (both tumbled and not): meditation, inner peace, dispels bad dreams, helps break bad habits
oceanic jade: peace, harmony, stability,
Dalmatian jasper: protects from negativity
black tourmaline:protects from negative energy
tiger eye: grounding, helps use to be energetic in a composed and serene way
citriline: happiness, creativity, stability and confidence
sodadalite: rational thinking, logic, intelligence, and emotional balance
rose quartz: enhances all forms of love, encourages us to be gentle and peaceful
quartz: used for protections and clearing of negative energies

I plan to make a book of stones in the near future.  So far, it will contain a picture of the stone or crystal with a description and use.  Any other ideas are always welcome.

I am afraid that if I do not create a book I won't know which stone is which even a couple of weeks from now.  I always am in need of reference materials.

I almost forgot to share with you the 3 worry stones we purchased.  Each one was chose for a different reason.  T Man chose the eye shaped stone specifically for the shape... something about the "eye" called to his little soul.  JJ on the other had picked out the Dalmatian jasper and wanted a worry stone that was similar in markings.  To him his worry stone his worry stone is about as close as you can get.  My stone was chose simply because of the colors and the ultra smooth texture.  I absolutely love anything red and the cold, smoothness of the stone under you thumb was simply relaxing.

I have this feeling that my husband will not want me making many trips to our new little hangout.  Buying stones is not cheap if you go in without guidelines.  Each of our stones ranged in price from 50 cents to $4.  The smallest slivers of some stones can be much more than a larger chunk of another.  I would suggest you do some research and go in with a list and goals in mind.  This should help you make the best choices for the money.

Happy House Charm

A small sachet pillow stuffed with good things is an excellent gift when people newly in love move in together. All the while you’re assembling it, focus on their hopes, dreams and your bright wishes for their hearth.

Directions:

1.  Make a 5X5 pillow from an interesting material. Leave one end open for stuffing.

2.  Gather, mix and empower the following herbs:
  • sage and sandlewood (blessing and protection)
  • lavender (domestic tranquility)
  • rose petals (honor their love)
  • couple drops of cinnamon oil.
3.  Stuff the pillow and sew the open end shut. Decorate as desired.

4.  In a sacred space, dedicate it under the gaze of the Lord and the Lady.

5.  Give it to the couple as a house warming gift.  You may want to attach a note to the pillow with the list of herbs used in the stuffing and the significance of each.

I would love to give credit when credit is due, but I have no idea where I got this charm from. If you know, please comment and I will add it to the post.

A Fairy Spell for Beltane

"In a woodland clearing, spread a clean green cloth. On it place small cakes and flowers, especially primroses, in a circle. Imagine the magic around you and say:

O Fairy Queen,
Upon your white steed,
Within me plant
A magic seed.

From you may spring
Many new beginnings.
Great Queen,
Accept these offerings.

Leave the items and walk around the altar three times, then slowly walk the path back to your home.

Listen for the sound of laughter and bells and know you are blessed.

Beltane is the time when fairies return from their winter rest, carefree and full of mischief and delight. On the night before Beltane, in times past, folks would place rowan branches at their windows and doors for protection."
